A Little Bit About Me...

I obtained my Associates of Science Degree in Biology at Macon State College completing courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Calculus. I then completed my Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology at Valdosta State University. At Valdosta State University, I completed courses such Microbiology, Molecular Genetics of DNA, Animal Physiology, Protein Biochemistry, and Statistics. With these courses came laboratory experience which has allowed me to strengthen my skills in writing laboratory reports. I also have experience in writing essays and research papers. I have tutored and mentored students in middle school and high school science and mathematics.

My technique in teaching navigation was to expose the student to the underlying physics of dead reaconing and celestial object movement. Then we would put the theory into practice in the air. I strove to always give positive feedback and encouragement.
I have been driven to excel in college and in my career in logistics. I've graduated from two of the top universities in the US, and retired from the USAF as a Major. I am very aware that everyone learns at different levels and in different ways. I am observant and mindful of this in teaching. I have worked with children with special needs for many years. Also, teaching ESL has helped me become a strong teacher because it has made me excellent with non verbal communication. It is important to have a stimulating environment for students.
