My formal experiences as an educator began as an intern at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary where I educated visiting students on natural history and biology. This was when I realized how much I enjoyed teaching and the mutual learning environment. Since then I've had the opportunity teaching at the middle grades (full-time teacher at a local middle school), high school (through a fellowship at a local university), and college level (as an instructor at a local university). My teaching style, is to find the way the child learns best. Math can be taught thru several different methods or strategies. I really enjoy children and have found that it is just a minor thing or so that causes them to not like math, but when they see that there is more than one way to solve problems they change their minds.
