At UCR, I was a "drop-in" tutor. This means that for hours of the day in a room with 6 chalkboards, I would teach math to any UCR student who wanted to learn and answer their questions. There was hardly any down time at all; I was constantly working. I had a team of tutors that I first worked with, then managed as a mentor in my last year. As a Mentor, I kept the team's understanding of the curriculum solid as a group effort. The mentors and the tutoring program coordinator held weekly meetings with regards to our various tutoring teams. I have good experience managing a team, and being part of a team of teams in a board room. Even as a Mentor, most of my time was spent in the Drop-In room tutoring people.
