During college, I swam varsity, an experience that taught me the patience and time management required to balance a rigorous academic schedule with the physical strain of a full-time sport. Later, I found that my personality and ability to work well with others was more helpful out of the water. During my 4th year, I coached the club swim team, and then moved up to assistant coaching the varsity team during my 5th year. I was able to understand the difficulties students were having and helped them with their work as well as helping them manage their schedules. I started tutoring when I was in high school. I have always been good in math. After high school I tutored students in my class and also students in high school. I attended Central Alabama Community College and before going to Troy I helped teach a pre-cal based physics class. Even since I've graduated from Troy I have help tutor younger students. I get great joy by doing this. I am a people person and love to meet new people. I think this helps me in my ways of teaching math. I like to understand how the person learns. That's the beautiful thing about math there are so many ways to learn. After understanding the person it is very easy to teach them.
