Thirty years experience in magazine publishing, creative direction. Prepared magazines for publication starting with paste ups and mechanicals and evolved into computerized art preparation of photographs, text, page layout, cover design, advertising design, marketing collateral design and exhibit design with Adobe and Quark softwares on the Mac. Branched off into dinnerware design, home decorating and jewelry design. Prepared room makeovers on computer using actual photos of room, selected fabrics, paint colors and furnishings that dimensionally fit the space, incorporating keepsakes. A Little Bit About Me...

I received my BA from one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. In addition to my psychology degree, I also studied Spanish extensively. Based on the liberal arts education that I received, I am fully capable of teaching a number of subjects including Spanish, History, and English. Currently, I teach Spanish and US History at a private boarding middle school in Connecticut but am moving to San Francisco for the summer. I also spent a lot of time in college and high school tutoring students in many subjects.

I teach people to learn and find answers on their own. I guide the student through exercises in any field and try to avoid straight memorization by putting the subject is some kind of context. I keep up with current trends and technology and can use that to aid in relationships and teaching.
I studied education at Montclair State University for 4 years but I have a always been a teacher. I greatly enjoy finding a way to inspire a child to understand the problem at hand. Through from my experience in grade school and my observation of students that attend tough schools I've realized the monotonous class schedule and disciplinary philosophy of most schools deflates most student's desire to succeed. While I can relate to this rebellious reaction I also know that it is no excuse for not trying very hard in school because the main path to success as a young adult is a high school diploma with excellent grades. I am very patient and friendly with students of all abilities.
