I worked in a day care a few years ago. I had a young school age class. I assisted with homework assignments, studying for test and how to behave in a classroom. I have a niece in elementary school who i also work with. We work on basic math and english skills. I do hands on work, using toys, candy, etc as examples for easier learning.

After three years I taught for one year at Clayton Primary in a multi-handicapped class. I then transferred to Four Oaks Middle School in 1993 where I continue to teach. The first year there I taught a self-contained mentally handicapped class, and since then I have taught through the inclusion model. Through co-teaching I work with the regular education teachers in grades six, seven and eight in the areas of math and language arts.
