A Little Bit About Me...

I am a student in Paris and have been tutoring middle school and high school students for three years with excellent results. I have been tutoring in math, physics, biology, French, English and German. I love helping students understand different subjects, and showing them that anything is possible. Also, I enjoy coming up with ways to make these subjects more fun for children.
I usually teach one on one, check if the student understood the class, and then do different types of exercises with them.

My comments on tutoring Marine Biology : Subject that I have taught as an elective subject.

I have a varied style, which is geared to the learning style of my students. I teach world to text, text to text, text to life.
I was employed by the Lakeland Central School District as a substitute Teacher Aide and later in a full time capacity. I worked for the OASIS Program and later at the Alternative High School. I taught Special Education at a high needs urban high school in the Bronx. This was a challenging and rewarding experience. Many of my students continued on to post secondary schools. I am currently finishing my Master's degree program at City College of New York, expected graduation is May 2013.

More About This Tutor...

As a current undergraduate chemistry and honors student at Arcadia University, I was recommended to become a tutor from several of my teachers my first year in college. I became a certified CRLA tutor and started tutoring my sophomore year of college; I've been tutoring ever since. I tutor chemistry, biology, math (beginner algebra, statistics, calculus I and II), and calculus based physics.
I love working with students and teaching them something new. The best feeling is when someone understands a concept that they didn't before; when something "clicks" for a student, I feel as if my job as a tutor was done. I'm a very determined, persistent, caring, and patient person; all of these characteristics have helped me become a great tutor.

Being a teacher in the middle school has given me the drive and the energy to pursue different avenues of the teaching and learning process. My passion for Science and for Math has given me an edge to make each lesson fun, adventurous, mind boggling and memorable for each child that I teach. What really keeps me going in this field is that it is never static. Education is truly dynamic, evolving and ever changing. This change alone gives me the push to go beyond what I only know but to keep on excelling through professional development, reading, research, collaboration and seminars and make sure that I share it 110% to those who would really benefit...our children, our future leaders of this world.
I never give up on a child. I also never push a child on any task that are really difficult for him or her. Time and patience is an important factor in teaching and tutoring. More ... read more

I believe in teaching the student how to learn on their own, rather than just telling them the answers. It is my ultimate goal to make every one of my students feel confident that they can learn anything that their teacher will cover. It is my job to make myself unnecessary as quickly as possible, so that the student is ready to continue on their own without my services. If the class is too advanced for that, then it is ... read more

I love teaching and the opportunity to help children learn and improve themselves. I believe that everyone learns in different ways and my teaching style is to discern the best way for each child to learn and to have a flexible teaching style to allow for each child's unique situation and style of learning. I also think that concrete real world examples are always the best way to learn since sometimes students can see the connection with academic subjects and how it is useful to them in their everyday lives.
