Dance is a Passion

I really think that teaching by showing is a good method. Whenever I teach dance I always demonstrate myself so the child can see what it is supposed to look like. If we are learning certain positions such as ballet adjusting the child is appropriate.
I started my dance career when I was 2 and I trained at Top Hat Dance Centre in Lewisville and I trained there until my junior year in High School. While I was there I trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and pointe. When I was 6 I was invited to the competition team and I continued to be a part of that until I joined drill team in 2008. I have earned a bachelor's degree in Public Communications, which requires strong written and verbal communication skills. I have earned two master's degrees, one in policy analysis and community organizing, and the other in dance education, history, and performance. I recently completed a certification in Women's Studies. I am currently a doctoral candidate (ABD) and my dissertation is about online education in dance studies.
