I have tutored GED students in math for most of the last ten years. Most of the tutoring was in a classroom, but some of it was private tutoring. Also I have tutored junior high students in Algebra 1 for two years. I have tutored fifth grade students in math for two years. Many students have indicated that they thought I explained concepts well. Also for two years I taught as a teaching assistant in the General Biology labs at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Now it is October, 2020. I have now done 4 years of tutoring at a local Columbia community college. Most of it has been in math, college algebra, and pre-calculus.

Nothing brings me more happiness that accomplishing a difficult task. I really enjoy seeing what I have overcome and the finished product of hard work and fortitude. Through tutoring, I want to extend that feeling to as many students as possible. I understand that all children can learn, but they also learn at different paces, in different ways, and at different times of the day. As I learn through audio, visual, and tactile, I can teach to those strengths as well. I am patient and easy going as long as the student tries to understand what is being taught to them.
