I start off with the student displaying what they know and/or don't know. I give an example and and encourage feedback in order to guage the student's understanding. Finally, I have the student to show their understanding. Sometimes, it may take different methods because people learn differently.
I have had over 15 years of tutoring and/or teaching experience. I have worked with different age groups, my preferred and primary being adults. I am currently working on my master’s thesis in mathematics, by which I expect to graduate fairly soon. I am patient, creative, and thorough in my interaction with students. I am also flexible to manage different learning styles while effectively achieving the learning goals of the student.

Lets make math easy and Fun!

I have tutored friens, family, and classmates. I have always done well in math classes in elementary, middle school, high school, and college. Throughout all of those levels of school, I usually was the first or second person to finish an examination. I really like math alot because it is simple and to the point. In math there is typically only one answer to the problem. There is no ambiguity! This is the part that I loved so much. I consider myslf to be a problem solver and enjoy working well with others. That is why I love math so much but I also loved psychology for similiar reasons. As you can imagine, it wasn't an easy choice when it was time to select a major for college. i have no regrets because now I get to help my 9-year old son. He attends a magnet school and he is in fourth grade. He is a straight-A student in school and he loves math also. So as you can see this is truly in ... read more
