More About This Tutor...

Hi! I am a sophomore in high school and I love tutoring kids! I've done some tutoring before in my neighborhood, and at my school. They all seem to like my teaching style and all of the students I've tutored have reported better results. I do tutoring mainly because I love helping people and seeing them succeed under my guidance. Please reach out to me if you're interested!
I usually teach by reviewing the lesson that kids don't understand, but I'm open to changing my style according to each type of student!

I have tutored many kids in different fields including math, science, and English. I am a recent neuroscience graduate at Michigan State University and have quite a broad background in science so I would be able to help in many of the fields that I have listed for that as I have taken some advanced courses in that field. My name is Kaitlyn. I am passionate about languages and cultures and therefore am enthusiastic about assisting others on their journey in learning to speak, read and write a foreign language. I can relate to the dedication and drive that is required while pursuing any language, as I have just recently graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. I have been studying this beautiful language for over 10 years now. As learning any language, it is an ongoing process and I am pleased to say that I am more passionate today than ever about the language and the people that you are able to meet and communicate with by being able to converse in Spanish. I have great conversational skills and am very reliable. Most of my tutoring abilities come from my own experiences as a student and also from having the chance to tutor English while I was studying abro ... read more

If you have knowledge, let others light their candles at it.

Good teaching is about listening, questioning, being responsive, and remembering that each student and class is different. At the same time, it's about being human, respecting others, and being professional at all times.
I worked as a elementary teacher in Romania for about 13 years. I used to work differentiate and with a combination of classes. From the training I received, I learned methodics, how to teach math, science, physical education, arts, and develop other skills. I am patient and know child psychology. Don't want to substitute parents who have a great role in child development, I want to become the help and the friend of the kid, the friend who brings an alternative and new ideas in developing and performance.

Algebra I is one of my top subjects! As an engineering student, I have use advanced algebra (correctly) every day for the past four years and throughout high school. Algebra is extremely useful and enjoyable once mastered.

From my experience as a math student, I have seen that the best approach to teaching math is to make it highly step-by-step. My teaching style is highly logical, making sure the student understands the process for themselves. I can teach using words or pictures and adjust the pace according to the ability of the student.
My experience as a tutor began with my younger sister. When she was a sophomore, then later a junior, I taught her Algebra 2 and, later, Functions Statistics and Trigonometry. She passed both classes, remaining on the honor roll. My next tutoring experience was in tutoring my fifth-grade cousin. At the end of two months, he won the math award at his school. Since then, I have tutored students in College Algebra, High School Algebra, Basic Math, and Junior High Algebra. I have enjoyed this experience immensely and have seen positive results.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy interacting and teaching others through interactive discussions, presentations, and hands-on exercises. I have worked with many people from various academic and cultural backgrounds during my academic and professional career, and can adapt to training individuals with a variable learning preference. I mostly have experience in lecture format, open discussion, and hands-on applications. Much of my work with others involved showing how to perform a physical act, such as a laboratory experiment, however, I supplemented the examples with details focusing on theory. I am patient and considerate when it comes to other learning styles and I recognize that everyone interprets and processes information differently.
