I am an Elementary Education Major at the University of Florida and have helped many students succeed in all subject areas, with a strong focus on Elementary Education. Some subjects that I particularly tutor in include: math, science, english, social studies, and language arts. I also supply a student with supplemental material I feel will help them learn better and at their own, individual pace. For instance, I believe that some students may learn better through visual exercises, and them others may learn through auditory (hearing) exercises. My comments on tutoring Trigonometry : Have taught Trigonometry at two community colleges and at ITT-Tech. Total teaching experience in the subject is 32 years

I possess over 30 years of academic/industry training the areas of mathematics, networking, programming and engineering. Having taught for 2 universities, 2 community colleges and several private institutions I bring to the class both an academic/private industry point of view. Students are taught not only the specific details of the course but are also shown where the subject matter is used in industry along jobs which might employ this knowledge. I prefer informal/one-on-one teaching with strong interactivity of the student and teacher during the instruction session.
I am capable of both structured and informal teaching styles depending upon the situation. A Little Bit About Me...

I began tutoring math for Stetson University which ranged from Algebra 1 to Calculus 2. I then began tutoring privately and I have tutored lower level math and advanced statistics. I have tutored a student who was failing calculus in class but then they earned the highest possible grade on the standardized test. I also have a degree in mathematics.
My teaching style involves a lot of examples and having the student answer the questions on the board. I am able to come up with examples off the top of my head and have the student work through the problem to prevent "dumb" mistakes (such as forgetting a minus sign). I am very patient and allow my students as much time as possible and encourage them to ask whenever they are stuck. I try to show that math can be fun and interesting and that there are applications out in the real world.
