My goal in teaching is to provide the student with the tools to discover and learn new concepts and to apply this knowledge to the learning process. After 29 years of teaching, I retired from the Public School System in May 2010. During my career I taught first, fourth, and sixth grades in the regular classroom. I also taught Developmental Kindergarten. Before I retired, I was the sole Gifted Education K-8 teacher for my school district. I currently am employed in this same position on a part-time basis. As a teacher I have had much experience in after-school tutoring in various subjects at the elementary level. I have taught Special Education for the last 12 years from grades k-12. I have four years experience in High School, seven years in elementary and one year as a special education director. I have also tutored students in high school (one year), taught private kindergarter (one year) and I was director of a Day care for 2 years. I earned my Bachelors degree when my children were small (all under the age of 7) and I continued on with classes starting in 2001 until I received my Masters Degree in Special Education.
