I am a very patient and loving person and am great with people. I graduated in History Teaching and secondary education. I love watching the face of a child when they realize that they have mastered a word that previously eluded them. When I tutor a child in reading, I will ask them questions about what they like to learn or how they like to have the teacher teach them and then base my tutoring off their answers. This way, the child feels involved in the process as well as gains the knowledge in a manner that feels correct for them to learn. I have had much success with tutoring children this way. I love the chance to make a child a reader.

I believe this is why when one of my daughters, now 16 years old, was having trouble in the third grade I pulled her and her twin sister and home schooled them through eighth grade. They now go to Santiam Christian where they excel - in fact the Admissions Coordinator told me that she has never seen kids do so well coming from a home school environment. I enjoy the process of helping students to learn. It is a great experience to see their minds grasp a new concept or idea. A Little Bit About Me...

I spent two years teaching and tutoring Autistic children. I aided in routine skills, verbal skills and dealing with change. I have worked with two different children on these skills. I also have extensive skills in writing and researching for my research papers. I also have great knowledge of APA format and can write an essay in no time flat.
I love working with children. I have helped with pre-K and grade school children with an emphasis on working with Autistic children. All children can succeed in school given the right tools; just because they do not get the idea from one method does not mean that they won't get it from a different method. I think that all children can learn regardless of age, learning ability or other status, if given a chance.
