I have always loved working with children. My teaching style is friendly, and casual, but still quite demanding. I try to create a comfortable and fun tutoring environment, but within that environment I challenge my students to work past their difficulties to reach levels of achievement they may not have previously believed themselves capable of. In order to create this environment I tend to incorporate games, novels, and fun worksheets that are right at the edge of a student's comfort level into my lessons. I love teaching and working with children and adults alike. Everyone can learn; it is up to the teachers to find out how their students learn best. I was 14 years old when my younger brother was born, so I had the wonderful opportunity to learn firsthand that teaching requires a great deal of patience, knowledge, and flexibility. My goal in teaching is to maximize efficiency -- find out how the student learns best and tailor the teaching materials to meet his or her needs.
My pre-medical school coursework allowed me to gain conceptual and hands-on understanding in the areas of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and biology. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe making the information relevant to the student is important. I like to use humor and real-life examples to keep students engaged. I believe that it is important to know how the child learns to be able to present the material to them in the best manner for them which is what I would base my style on.
I obtained Secondary Teacher Certification in Social Sciences. I taught high school and middle school Spanish for two and half years at public schools, and completed my student teaching at an alternative school for juvenile criminals. I was an at home teacher for my school district when children were out for extended periods due to illness. I have completed additional continuing education in working with gifted and special needs children. I enjoy sharing my passion for learning with others and love to see the “light” come on when a student finally understands a concept.
