I lived in Paris, France for 1.5 years then moved to Rome, Italy, again teaching English. My experiences were wonderful as I met people who really enjoyed learning English and needed it for work. I understand frustration at school because I experienced it myself. I believe a better grasp of communication (reading, writing, speaking skills) can change a student’s confidence about learning (and life) and improve scientific outcomes on class grades and standardized tests. Luckily, I got into a great university and found out, after taking a few core classes, that I actually love science. Once I really understood some of the key concepts, I found it to be fun and interesting.
