It is time to understand what is going on in math class.

I understand that many students seeking tutors have had years of frustration in math classes. Often, I find that they do not understand the concepts. They are confined to memorization and rote. Students who I teach will learn to appreciate what they are learning.
I have had teaching responsibilities since I began graduate school. During my time at the Rochester Institute of Technology, I was a student grader while working towards my B.S. in Computational Mathematics. I obtained my degree with Highest Honors, and an overall GPA of 3.88. I graded mostly college algebra and early calculus. I was required to do the same homework and quizzes the students did, and create answer keys. Then, I would go through each problem and either give full credit for a correct answer and work, or partial credit if needed. By following their work, I was able to see where they made mistakes, and write in notes on what they needed to do.
