I have been studying mathematics for three years at Mississippi State University. I currently work in our math lab where I help students with their homework and quizzes on maths ranging from intermediate algebra to calculus. I also work in our Learning Center where I tutor students one-on-one with similar math subjects. I like to work example problems to help clarify mathematical processes.

I graduated from high school in 2011 with special honors and as co-valedictorian. I am now attending the University of Mississippi where I am majoring in accountancy and minoring in business. My passion is writing, so naturally that is what I do best. Every year, I am contacted by numerous students from my high school and also my classmates at Ole Miss about proofreading their papers. I have also worked with helping students study for math classes, including but not limited to pre-algebra and algebra. My best subjects have always been English and math, but I am efficient in all high school level courses with the one exception of science, which has always been my weakness. I believe however the child needs the information, is how I will teach. Children have many different styles of learning and you have to be flexible for them to become successful. I believe Mathematics can be fun and entertaining. I want the best for every child out there. I worked at Learning Center in Tupelo, MS for a year as a proctor for government issued tests and a mathematics tutor. I have not received my Elementary Education Bachelor's Degree yet, however, I am in the process of receiving it. I will graduate Dec. 2011. I have taken 21 hours in Mathematics so far at the college level, and love working with children. I have had to tutor from first grade to college level. As a student in high school, I always have had a passion for math, as well as a passion to teach. I love teaching because of the feeling of helping someone who is truly struggling in class! I believe that everyone can learn, but some teachers styles don't match up with the students learning style. I am a very patient and considerate person. I am a firm believer that many students can't learn strictly through theory and need to be walked through example problems. Walking through problems gives them a better visualization of what they are trying to solve. As a recent college graduate, I understand the high expectations and the stress that it can cause a college student, especially coming from a school where most professors expected students to teach themselves concepts. I recognize that each student learns differently. It is important to me to assses the style that is best for the student. I will always differentiate the way I teach to the benefit of the pupil. If a student needs more visual aid and description, that is how I will teach them. If a different student needs manipulatives or prefers auditory lessons, I will provide that for them. The way I teach my students is the way that they learn best. If they do not learn in the way of their appropiate learning style it will not be as effective I have seven years experience as an electrical engineer.
