My comments on tutoring Psychology : I have a BS in this subject. Love the subject.

Adult Education Instructor for 9 years. I have taught in community GED classes in Georgia also. My experience in Alabama has been with the penal system. This has been a rewarding place to work. We are responsible for over 100 GED's each year. In Georgia, I also taught basic computer skills. Reading was the main focus of this promgram. I taught mothers to read to their children. I also teach voice privately.
My teaching style is determined by the needs of my class. Each person learns differently. I have found that a teacher must provide visible, hands-on, lectures, and kinetic teaching styles to meet the needs of a class. At some point every student must learn to work independently.

Most all of my experience in life has been in business, Corporate America. However, I have always been a teacher at heart. I spent several years as a student tutor while I was attending college, both in the classroom and during my online courses. I have instructed many of my fellow employees while on the job. Most of this instruction has come in the form of teaching new job responsibilities to seasoned employees, as well as teaching new employees the basics of their jobs.
I believe that a student should have the time to figure things out on their own, but with guidance from their tutor or teacher. I think I should provide a student with all the tools they need, and then through example I will teach a student to figure things out for themselves. In my experience teaching a wide range of ages and children from very different backgrounds, I have seen how all students can thrive in an academic setting with the right instructional strategy. All students learn differently; some need their assignments read aloud, while others prefer to read alone. Some learn better by hearing what is being taught, while others prefer to learn with visual aides.
