I am a third year undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls studying English Literature and Technical Writing. I am also in my second year of French and am proficient at reading the language. I can provide assistance to the beginnining French student. In high school I took Advanced Placement courses in American History, Biology, and Literature. Throughout my coursework at Eau Claire, I have adopted a constructivist approach to teaching. That is, I believe that every child is unique and learns differently. It is the instructors job to find out how each child learns the material, whether it be visually with demonstrations or integrating the material to an area of interest (like a favorite sport), and then cater to their particular need. As a result, I am easy to approach, likeable, and try to be a supportive as opposed to disciplinary mentor. As an aerospace engineering student at Embry-Riddle, mathematics comes quite easily to me. I enjoy solving and creating mathematical problems. At Embry-Riddle I quickly became known as the "go to" guy for all math related questions. Within the first two weeks of the first semester I was leading a Calculus 2 study group and retained my position as such until the end of the semester. While the study group dwindled in size for Calculus 3 I did still lead the group. I enjoy teaching mathematics and biology. If the student is willing to learn in some fashion I can help him or her.
