After obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies, I taught English as an additional language for one full year in Madrid, Spain. After I returned to the U.S. to obtain my Master's of Education degree in English as a Second Language. I currently teach adults and secondary students. English ESOL is one of my top subjects!

I am very patient. I will do whatever it takes to ensure that my clients are comfortable with me. Therefore, my teaching style really depends on the client. I teach which way will be best for my client. Before I begin teaching, I tend to ask my clients about their studying habits in order to understand the ways the best help them succeed and, also to see if there's any improvement need to be taking.
I am a senior college student at The University of Alabama. I speak English and Arabic fluently and fully confident with the basics of the French language. I am also a McNair Scholar and I conduct academic and professional research. Besides being a student and a scholar, I volunteer my free time to tutor students. I use an intercultural (as opposed to assimilationist) perspective, knowing that language teachers also teach culture; this is not only desirable, it is probably unavoidable. We cannot allow the material on testing instruments to dictate the entire scope of what we teach. I still find it difficult to convince many people that literacy, strictly speaking, is usually not the challenge adult ELLs face. Their challenges usually consist in expanding the English they learned in school, so that it becomes useful for academic purposes, or for basic life-skills in a new country.
