My goal is to find the best way for an individual to learn.

I have worked with young people tutoring elementary and high school subjects as well as being a public school teacher for over 10 years. I have been a nanny for highly intelligent young people as well as those on the autism spectrum. My most recent success was with a 1st-2nt grader in reading and rebuilding self confidence.

If I could choose one word to represent the way in which I do things it would have to be integrity. I choose this word because it implies a transition from knowing to acting in accordance with one's sense of self as a whole. By bridging the gap between tutor to student I participate in an act of truthfulness which is mutually beneficial. I encourage intelligence, creativity, and development in myself and those around me. I am fun loving and eager to help others. I also have plenty of group-work experience from my communication minor and English comp workshops. While in college my professors often paired me up with the struggling students because of my strong writing skills.

As an on-call substitute teacher, I covered the K-12 grade levels from 1986-2000. I also was a religious education volunteer teacher during 1981-1991. My Bachelor of Science in Biology degree was earned at Pennsylvania State University, and I accumulated 124 credit hours with some education courses. I have business professional skills in sales, administrative assisting, certified medical assisting, and customer service acquired through work experience and corporate training and seminars. Since I love working and teaching with all children, I have found many of my out-of-the classroom responsibilities to be just as rewarding as teaching in the classroom. I have been invovled with Math tutoring programs at the middle school level, homework help times before and after-school, and one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions. I believe that EVERY student is capable of an "A"; just one student's "A" may be another student's "C".
