As a graduate student at UC Berkeley, I was a TA for twelve semesters in a range of physics classes. In 2002 I won the UC Berkeley Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor award. After graduating I was a lecturer for 2 years at 50% time. This was at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. There I developed and taught new coursed in math, physics and programming that were fine tuned for the needs of the architecture students. I use Google extensively to look for similar examples to the problems the student might be having. I believe that it is best to solve any given problem in at least two different ways if you really want to get some insight. It also helps in either verifying your answer or checking if you are in the ballpark.
I have an undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering. I have a Masters in Systems Engineering. I have tutored one person in statistics, algebra, analytical geometry and elementary functions for one year. She has maintained an “A” average during that time.
