A Little Bit About Me...

All children have the ability to learn, however some children simply need to be taught in a different way. In law school I am a teaching assistant and my favorite part about working with students is finding out what a student's learning style is. Based upon the learning style they describe I adapt my teaching methods to best fit their style. Children don't usually know what their learning style is, so I also enjoying figuring out what methods best suit them--be it auditory, visual, or kinesthetic.
Since 8th grade I have worked with the elementary school students at Edgemont Elementary school in Moreno Valley in reading, math, and physical education. My Ph. D. work involved solving a second order partial differential equation which reflects real life utrlasound vibrated water streams capable of producing dropwise precipitation at within 1% reproducibility between drops, this led to an unprecedented ability to solve very sophisticated equations. My earned masters degree in chemical engineering makes it possible for me to tutor equally well in chemistry and mathematics. I believe any child has the ability to do anything in the world if they are given the opportunity and necessary skills. Many times educators falter because they have been teaching so long that they forget a student’s mindset is different. I believe that a great educator will listen to the needs and strengths of the student directly from the student to help detect what is preventing the student from completely mastering a particular skill.
