As a Paine College student, I do some substitute teaching to have some experience with teaching students a variety of mathematics and other subjects. I will be getting my BS in Mathematics with emphasis of Computer Science. I am planning to get teacher certification in Georgia and start teaching mathematics.
I am very patient with a child when it comes to learning. Some children learn differently than other children. Sometimes I would take each problem one step at a time. If needed, I would spend more time with a child that needs more help with a problem.

I believe ever child has his or her own level of learning. That level can be intrapersonal, interpersonal, visual,etc. Every child must be worked with and not looked over. Not every child learns at the same pace. I am a believer in giving every child a chance. We as educators must find out what level of learning the child is on in order to assist the child's learning needs. If we fail to assess those needs, we have failed the child.
Although I graduated with a BS in Justices and an AA in Criminal Justice, I found myself feeling better working with youth rather than adults. I have a varied educational and professional background with experience in teaching students in several venues. In high school, I tutored math and reading to elementary students. I taught reading and religion immediately after graduation in 1991. As a young professional, I taught economics with the Junior Achievement program. My needs for additional business training lead me to work on a business degree with a focus on accounting. I coached youth soccer for four years and later went on to coach high school soccer.
