I served in the US Navy for six years after high school, providing me with a wealth of world experience. I excelled in my studies in the Navy's nuclear power program as a machinist mate and engineering laboratory technician. I subsequently obtained a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I worked for several years in chemical design at Oak Ridge's National Nuclear Security Complex. My goal in teaching is to help students understand how the scientific process affects them on a personal level.
