I have worked at Kumon Learning Center as a primary instructor for over a year, and have had ample experience in working with children of all ages in math and reading (teaching them the basic pronunciation of various letter sounds and words and basic mathematical concepts). I have tutored children of ages 5-12 at an English Center in Jinan, China for two weeks, and have tutored two transfer students in English on a weekly basis during my senior year in high school. I have also taught piano to adults on a volunteer basis for a month, and have had much experience in working with children in learning arts and crafts. I Will Meet You Where You Are!

I believe every student can learn! School was never meant to be a struggle, an effort yes, but not a struggle!
Hello! I have 15 years of teaching experience in the classroom and have been tutoring now since January of 2012. I have a true passion for teaching! I have taught in the parochial, private, and public schools. I taught at Assumption Catholic School from 1997-2004, English and Reading to 6th-12th grade ESE students at The Broach School from 2004-2008, and Intensive Reading to 11th and 12th graders at Andrew Jackson High School (public inner city urban in Duval County) from 2010-2011. I have also conducted FCAT, ACT, and SAT prep, as well as study skills in the summer months when students don't have schoolwork! While in the classroom my average student came up 3-4 grade levels in a year in reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, spelling, and language mechanics. My certi ... read more

Learning comes with a pinch of confidence & creativity. :)

I have tutored for Acers tutoring in Orlando for a full year. I have full experience with teaching reading and writing, as well as somer lower level algebra and mathematic skills. The kids have ranged from ages 8-14. As well, I have been giving guitar lessons to kids between the ages of 10-14. The children have all been able to pick up quickly, and being a song writer, I encourage the kids to seek full creativity in their music and learning. In college, I've spent my time volunteering with the youth group, and helping mentor kids in the middle school age. Also, I am a double major, and have majored in Education, which has allowed me to work with JEA and create lesson plans and teach a class of seventh graders.
I implement creativity, and ample amount of positive, fun energy into the way I teach. I believe the key to any child's learning is first instilling confidence into them. W ... read more

I graduated from the University of Florida with a 4.0 GPA. I really enjoy doing math it’s one of my favorites. Not to mention, it’s one of the many subjects that I expertise in. In addition, I enjoy helping others, and sharing what I’ve learned in my college years. I’ve mastered many other subjects with math being my favorite subject. My comments on tutoring Language Arts : Language Arts and Reading are my favorite subjects to teach. I have many years of experience in these subjects.

Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.
I have been a self-employed Tutor since April, 2006. Special needs and home schooled students are welcomed. Nothing makes me happier than when I see the smiles on the faces of my students when they succeed rather than fail. I assist all students in skill building and creating a life-long love of learning. I provide on-going feedback to parents and am happy to work with the teachers of my students.

My comments on tutoring Language Arts : A former English major, professional writer and editor, and teacher, I am an expert coach in teaching the proper use of the English language: style, grammar, composition, and editing. I can significantly improve your competency, no matter what your current level of understanding. Particular specialty is with students grade 5 through 10.

Starting as an English major, and working as a tutor for Huntington Learning Centers, I have always loved working with students of all levels in the English language - in all its facets: from grammar to style. At a time when proper use of the language is increasingly rare (but required to master tests) it is a special interest of mine to promote successful language arts skills and strategies in students. Good writing can be persuasive, informative, or entertaining, and each has its particular components. Having been a professional writer, editor, tutor and teacher, I am intimately aware of what it takes to excel in each.
Having been tutor at Huntington Learning centers and a private tutor, I excel at one on one tutoring relationships. It is essential to understand the level of competence of the student and moving from that to gradual improvement of skills. Each student is an i ... read more

Language Arts is one of my top subjects! I have been teaching Language Arts components for more than 10 years

I have wanted to teach students since the first grade. My mother has all my memoirs stored away. I have learned to be so creative in the English realm. I have created so many assignments over the years for my students. Each year the assignments are different. I have also used my creative models as manipulatives for students when they are struggling with English or reading. I teach students to explore and engage in the world of learning and not just follow someone else's lead. The world is filled with creativity I as well as my students have been on an exploration voyage for years.
My passion for teaching is enormous. I am an innovative teacher who really allow students to use their multiple intelligences. I feel in order for a student to successful with his/her learning he or she has to be comfortable with the exposed environment. I allow a lot of group collaboration in my classro ... read more
