I am a NYS Certified School Psychologist. I have worked in an Elementary School building for 2 years and have been working for WFL BOCES for the past 8 years with students in high school. I have experience working with students with a variety of learning needs as well as with students with significant social, emotional and behavioral difficulties. I am interested in tutoring because I love teaching regardless of the subject matter. I’ve been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to try several different content areas such as Special Education 7th grade Science in a Push-In model, ESOL, Home and Careers, Career and Financial Management as well as substitute teaching in many areas K-12, in addition to teaching technology in multiple districts. I am very familiar with the New York State Education Department's requirements in the areas of Social Studies and English Language Arts. My grammar and organizational skills are very strong, and I am an excellent writer and editor. The majority of my teaching has been in the area of Secondary Social Studies.
I believe strongly that any student can be inspired to embrace learning. I have found that meeting students where they are at (academic level) is most crucial to inspiring learning.
