I like to have a relationship with the students I tutored where they feel comfortable with me; I want them to be able to tell me the problems they're having with the work and what I can do to help. I like to be friendly with them while still being an authority figure where they want to do their best. I think this type of relationship allows me to push the students to their maximum limit without discouraging them when we're having a difficult session.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is based on principles of respect, creativity, and growth. I start by establishing a personal connection to the student. Without their buy-in, anything you try to teach will be lost. Once I understand what motivates the student and what they feel successful at, I can begin to design a program that will meet their needs and allow them to feel success. I love hands-on activities and discovery learning. I would much rather provide the opportunity for a child to learn then to dictate what that learning looks like.
