Teaching is my passion. I believe that a teacher is one of the most influential role models in a child's life. My goal is to plant that seed in a positive way. Therefore, as educators we can help build a society consisting of children who can make decisions to make our world a better place. I am an advocate of positive reinforcement when I teach children. I also believe that teachers should provide consistency and reliability for their students. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Having this Bachelor of Science degree has allowed me to have comprehensive knowledge in various areas. I substituted for a year in the Omaha area. I have worked primarily in inner city areas in magnet schools. I then used my teaching degree to teach adults as a training specialist in the Denver agree. I am working in cosmetic training. When most high school seniors were registering for classes, they had an easy agenda planned. My intentions were entirely different. I decided to challenge myself the final year and study more science coursework than was needed for me to sufficiently graduate. In addition, I was the kind of friend that was reliable in understanding course concepts, so most of my friends and some other peers were coming to me for help. In college, I continued to pursue my interest in business. Through out college I contributed to my church's youth group by helping in organizing and implementing their projects. I enjoy children and trying to teach them new and exciting things. At times, I understand that it requires patience to work with children, but if you are able to do that then chances of success are much more likely. I love working with children and helping fulfill their potential. I like at children as water that must be directed in the right direction. I will do this my trying to find research validated methods of teaching that teaching to all the learning styles. If the child does not learn the first time I will try again and again until they have got it. As a teacher with dyslexia I felt that I was unable to teach reading to my students. I went in search of more training and found Alphabetic Phonics a Orton Gillingham program. I have sense used what I learn in the almost 160 hours of training with 11 students and seen progress in all of them.
