To whom it may concern, I have taught as a classroom teacher, a Title I teacher, and as a special education teacher. All of these experiences have given me skills I use as a teacher. I have a love of books and enjoy sharing them with children. I have always enjoyed working with children. I enjoy watching their faces when the lesson I am teaching suddenly makes sense to them! . Knowing students as people is extremely important when teaching as it allows for a teacher to choose methods that work best for the individual student (learning styles and multiple intelligences come in to play here). Students should feel both safe and comfortable in their learning environment so that they may reap the most benefits from education. I believe that all students maintain the right to learn in an environment that is safe as well as conducive to learning. All students are interested in something and it is imperative that we, as teachers, find that something and mold it so that it fits to the education needs of the students. A Little Bit About Me...

As a University of Southern Maine graduate, I look forward to having my own classroom where I can touch many students' lives. I have earned my BA in General Science with a concentration in Earth Science. I tend to use the many experiences that I have learned from in my own classroom and with students that I can help.
