I have done student teaching at the high school level in Math, specifically, Geometry and Trigonometry. I created innovative new ways to use the materials on hand to reawaken students' natural mathematical curiosity and to exemplify the concepts of the courses. I have done one semester of long term substitute work in which I taught underprivileged children Physics and Physical Science. I teach by completely explaining the idea, challenging the student, and addressing weaknesses or gaps in understanding. I feel that I can simplify complex concepts and explain them clearly, whether the question is thermodynamics, macroeconomics, or multiplication. Anyone can understand a difficult topic or answer challenging problem with the proper coaching, practice, and persistence. I am patient and understanding but resilient and dedicated. As seen from above, I have valid tutoring experience in both middle grades and HS. I was in the student teaching program at Wake Forest and upon graduation, I was a substitute teacher in the Winston-Salem, Forsyth County School system. I also participated in the Junior Achievement program in the Piedmont NC region for over 5 years. I am currently a tutor with the "No Child Left Behind Program." I am a disciplinarian. I have an excellent ability to gain a students attention, keep it and the results of my students have been well above average.
