I believe every child can succeed in school. Every child has the ability to reach his/her highest potential, even those who are struggling. Sometimes it is just a matter of finding the technique that works best for that child. Not every child learns exactly the same way but every child can learn!
I am the mother of 3 children and an elementary education teacher. Currently I am teaching 2nd grade but I've been teaching for 5 years and have experience in grades k,1, 2, 3 and 5. I've also had substitute and tutoring experience with grades k-12. I have experience with special needs both through my own children and within the classroom. My teaching style varies depending on the students I am teaching. It consists of lecture notes, handouts, exams and quizes and games such as Jeopardy. I believe that all students have the ability to learn and grow as individuals. It is my job as the teacher to make learning both enjoyable and educational. My main goal in education is to make a difference in the lives of the students I teach.
I have been involved with education for roughly the past five years, spending 2 as a substitute teacher, 2.5 as a Middle and High School Social Studies teacher and 0.5 as an Adult Education Instructor. I hold a Master's Degree in Social Studies Education from Morehead State University and a Bachelor's Degree in History from Alice Lloyd College.
