Passionate Elementary Education Tutor

I love teaching and I love to see the spark in a child's eye when they finally understand a subject they have struggled with! I am a certified special education instructional support aide for an elementary school in northwest Fort Worth. During the school year, I work in Resource and Content Mastery with special education students that are in general education classes but need additional instruction in Reading, Math, and Language Arts. Everyone needs help now and again!

I find most children at young ages are visual learners, but I am easily adjustable to many teaching styles to fit the students needs.
I have worked with children ages 5 and up for a few years now. I have 3 siblings all 8 years or more younger than me, and have had lots of experience with children in elementary school. I prefer working one on one with students and in group situations I utilize a collaborative learning approach.
I taught freshman composition at Texas A&M Commerce and Paris Junior College. My primary focus in graduate school was literature. Much of my studies related to children's and adolescent literature. The study of composition and compositional theory made up a secondary focus of my studies.
