Pre-Algebra is one of my top subjects! I taught Pre-Algebra concepts to a high school student who had educational and developmental deficits. I helped him understand the concepts for 2-3 years while he was in high school. Through my tutoring, he was able to keep his grades up and gain a better understanding in his mainstream math classes (Algebra I, Algebra II).

I have been tutoring students for about 5 years. I started when I was a junior in high school. My first experiences tutoring were through the National Honor Society. I volunteered after school once or twice per week and I tutored mainly ESL students in Math and English. My senior year of high school and throughout the time I was in college, I tutored a high school student who had educational and developmental deficits. He needed help in all of his core classes from 8th grade through 12th grade. I tutored him in Pre-Algebra through Algebra II, History, Science, and English. I have learned a great deal in this time about how to structure lessons for my students in ways that not only teach them the process of doing the work, but also the background information about why things work the way they do.
