Having taught for more than five years as a certified teacher, I feel that I have what it takes to be an educator. After finishing my undergraduate work, I served in the Peace Corps for over two years. During this time I worked with various groups in the areas of elementary education tutoring, ESL for children and adults, and small-business training. When I finished the Peace Corps I was awarded a scholarship/fellowship to Duquesne University, where I completed my Master's degree. During this time I worked half-time with a nonprofit.
