This week I began the 10 day process of becoming certified in Career and Technical Education (CTE) , endorsed in Industrial Technology(IT). A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a substitute teacher specializing in math, science, history, English, and German with the company, 'Substitute Teachers Unlimited,' which employs me throughout the greater Phoenix area. I am also a professional actor, voiceover artist, actor/teacher, and yoga instructor! In high school, I took a great deal of Honors and AP classes, including assorted math classes, AP-German, AP-American Politics and Government, and AP-World Literature. I received my BFA in dramatic performance from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, and I continued my more academic studies with a focus in computer science, taking such classes as physics, Statistics, HTML, C, and C++. My interests and abilities in mathematics, physics, soccer, cycling, and triathlon is a result of developing in a gender-free environment. My upper-level college mathematics courses were my first experience with just how much women were underrepresented in the sciences. I was genuinely intimidated and surprised by the lack of females in my classes. During those years, I questioned my ability more often than not. Although I did not earn straight A’s, I did learn that I am equally as able to succeed in mathematics as the males that continue to surround me. I can now take on challenges and overcome gender stereotypes that would limit most women. I was fortunate to learn that gender, race, religion, etc. does not dictate where one succeeds.
