My style of teaching involves real learning. I believe that all students have the ability to learn new concepts and facts if the teaching is made fun and personal. Teaching why and how the information can be put to use helps student retain the knowledge longer and teaches them to think on thier own. I believe in working at a steady pace, but one that is geared toward the individual students strengths.
I earned my degree in Human Services from Virginia Wesleyan College, after graduating I returned to Massachusetts and took several classes towards a Masters degree at Anna Maria College. During this time I worked as a substitute teacher for the Spencer/East Brookfield school district and Leicester schools. A Little Bit About Me...

I like to get to the point of certain problems, such as reading the child/student when I see them, ask them some questions about the subjects they need help in and why they need help. I have worked with Infants-School age for over 5 years, and enjoy being there to help someone in need. I believe in giving back, because so many of us are blessed already.
As an early childhood teacher, I have had several opportunities to help children (school age), to do homework. I also was a tutor in high school to a boy for just Algebra, which then turned around to being all of his subjects and helping him keep on track. The hardest thing for me was that he had only lived in the U.S. for four years, and had trouble speaking English. After each session of tutoring, I would grab the Scrabble board, which encouraged him to use more words, learn new words, and have fun while doing so.
