I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Economics with a Business Administration minor. I started off as a Finance/Account major but switched after I took some economics courses as electives. With that being the case, most of my business admin credit hours came in accounting and finance. Returning for grad school after the Navy, I earned my M.S. in Physics and did advanced work before deciding not to pursue a Ph.D. In the Navy I spent two years as an instructor at Naval Submarine School. During grad school, I taught Physics 211(Mechanics), 212(Electricity and Magnetism), 280(Nuc. Weapons and Arms Control), and 140(Physics for non-technical majors). Throughout my tutoring experience, I noticed oftentimes, students wouldn’t be able completely grasp the concepts the first time when I explained to them. To resolve this problem, I have learned that it is helpful to explain the process of solving the same problem from a different perspective or using a different method.
