A Little Bit About Me...

I have been the educational field for over fifteen years. My experience varies from classroom instruction to self paced, online adult programs. I have taught technical and non-technical courses to a variety of age groups. I am currently teaching at Cleveland Public Schools as a Business instructor.
My teaching style completely depends on the learner. In a classroom setting, I am fairly relaxed and ensure that students feel confident and able to communicate without fear. My lessons address each of the learning styles so that every student has the opportunity to utilize their strengths when it comes to processing information. My passion is working with children of all ages. I believe all children can learn and it depends on how you approach their learning. If a child is not learning, I need to re-evaluate how I go about teaching. I am very patient and have an outgoing personality. I believe that you must teach to the whole child before true learning can happen.
I have been a classroom teacher for 9 years. All 10 of my years out of school have been in the education field. My first year out of college I taught at an unaccredited private school, and then at an accredited day care center. The next 7 years were at a public school. One year I was recruiting for scholarships at the college level. I have always opened my door to students without expectations of payment for several years.
