My teaching style completely depends on the learner. In a classroom setting, I am fairly relaxed and ensure that students feel confident and able to communicate without fear. My lessons address each of the learning styles so that every student has the opportunity to utilize their strengths when it comes to processing information. In a one-on-one setting, I tend to teach mostly to the style of the individual student. However, I vary the methods of that style to prevent monotony. I still utilize the non-dominant learning styles so students can begin to develop a holistic approach to learning, but if something flat out does not work, I will try a different approach.

An instructor, one must create a safe environment that is interactive and collaborative and that promotes problem-solving and critical thinking skills. By giving students a voice in class, not only do the students benefit from peer-peer learning by enriching the course material with personal experiences and knowledge, but they also take responsibility for their own learning and, therefore, enhance the integration of their new knowledge into practice. To create a safe learning environment, I encourage students to ask questions and give their views on the material we are covering. I create assignments that improve students’ problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
