My style of teaching really depends on the student and his/her learning style. Different students learn in different ways. I believe it is my responsibility to find which style works best for the student(s).
First teaching job was in a school for severely autistic children. After being there for a year I taught in a residential home for boys. This was challenging but probably one of my favorite jobs as a teacher. Because of the distance from home to work (about 1-1/2 hrs.), I applied at an urban school 20 minutes from my home. My first job there was managing the Young Parents Program. This was a program for high school girls who were pregnant or had already had a child. I went to the University of Notre Dame and graduated with a bachelors degree in pre-professional studies. I then went to Midwestern Medical School in Chicago and received my anesthesia training at the New Jersey School of Medicine and Dentistry. Talent Development Tutoring

My oldest is a national merit scholar finalist, and my youngest son is captain of his high school math team. Math is fun, like a puzzle-once the student sees this fact, they begin having more fun and less fear of the subject.
I am a patient teacher, and I use many different ways of communication. I try to find the style of learning best suited to my pupil. Removing the fear of the subject seems to be the most important part.
