A Little Bit About Me...

I have been in ballet for 13 years, classically trained. I've been an artist ever since 2006 and I sell my art. I took chemistry my sophomore year and took the notes that mattered and passed each test with an A. English has always been my high point, as I understand grammar and spelling. I am also involved musically at school in the Madrigals choir.

If you don't like the results, I haven't done my job.

All I do is tend to my students needs. I'm personal. Like to get off track with my students and lead them back to the point.
I won the state championship in the 100 meters and went to Adams State College in Alamosa CO. Broke a leg in track and received withdrawn F across the board. Left college and healed up. Went to the Army two years and reserve three years. Came back and picked up the quickest degree possiable. Moved to Hawwaii, three years. Became a ciritified dept of defense government contractor. Furnish and deliver contracts. Ended up moving back home to Albuquerque NM. I started working in the Indian Casinos for 13 years. I bought a house and retired. But now I'm tired of sitting around.

My comments on tutoring Chemistry : Got a 5 in AP Chemistry, but forgot lots of it. May need memory-jogging.

I have just finished junior year of high school and will be a senior this fall. Throughout my life I have always been especially good at math. I never fail to get an A in math every year. In 10th grade I decided to skip Pre-Calculus from Algebra 2 to AP Calculus BC when I enter 11th grade. Interestingly, I still found AP Calculus BC to be relatively easy. I am the vice president of a tutor club at La Costa Canyon High School. I teach students after school all subjects. I also tutored students outside of school. During my junior year I tutored a girl in Pre-Algebra who did not understand how graphs work. I also tutored a high-schooler in Pre-Calculus two weeks ago who had a final in two days. I came to his house and tutored him for a total of 15 hours (he needed lots of help) in those two days.
Very patient. Usually I will explain the concept, present a practice problem, ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutoring experience since I joined for PhD degree in Indian Institue of Science, India in 1991. My central focus of teaching includes students to imbibe chemistry, remember the chemistry any time and of course, ultimately useful to score 100% in AP chemistry. Teaching is not an art and it is also not considered as a transducer. Teaching is an interactive program between teacher and students through subjects. Teaching definitely helps students to study the subject. By and large, I want to serve the student community through teaching chemistry which I have gained during my experience in India, Japan, South Africa and USA. Of course, I am available any time from now.

My comments on tutoring Chemistry : I have a Bachelors Degree in Animal Studies (Pre-Veterinarian Studies) with a high emphasis on biology, anatomy, physiology, chemistry, microbiology, life sciences and general science categories.

My teaching style is a hands on "learn by doing" approach. I believe that kids learn when they are fully engaged by using all of their senses to learn a subject matter, not just a learn by memorizing facts approach.

More About This Tutor...

I am a senior undergraduate student enrolled at Georgia Tech. My major is nuclear and radiological engineering, but i have experience in the fields of mechanical and civil engineering. I am most experienced in the subjects of mathematics, radiation physics, and electromagnetics including: algebra (I and II), trigonometry, differential equations, calculus 1 and 3, reactor physics, radiation protection/particle physics, thermodynamics, classical mechanics. I also have basic college level experience in the fields of chemistry and biology.
I encourage students to question problem solving methods in order to understand the fundamentals. After an explanation of the material I often follow up with several example problems to help students test their mastery of the subject. I do not emphasize memorizing equations, because students do not learn about the physical phenomena by memorization. ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I love Math, and I would love to have the opportunity to teach children and adults especially students from k-12th grade who are struggling in Math. My teaching style would be to teach Math as simple and understandable as possible. I would also make my teaching style to be fun but my priority is to tutor students to be successful in their education.
I graduated from University of California Riverside and received my bachelor's degree in Mathematics. Not only I gain more understanding in Math, I also spent most of my time with my fellow classmates helping each other for our Math assignments in college. During the spring 2010, I tutored one student who is struggling in Algebra 1 and helped her pass the class.

A Little Bit About Me...

I feel I learn as much as I teach. I value every student that I have the opportunity to work with. I have learned some students just need to overcoming their dislike of a subject. For others, a key subject building block had been built properly (as in Math) and as a result the rest of the information was sitting unstable in their minds. Finding where the support is needed and then working to solidify the skill then leads to greater confidence and greater academic achievement, Most students I work with appreciate that I am fair but firm. I want to succeed. It is a win-win.
I have recently completed my MBA at national University. I currently teach high school part time at a alternative high school. This recent experience provided me with opportunity to work with students in a one-on-one basis as well as familiarize myself with every core class offered in the high school program. I ... read more

I have always had a passion for teaching. My B.A. in Chemistry with minors in Mathematics and Philosophy was granted by La Salle University in Philadelphia. The University of Wisconsin—Madison granted my Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry (1997), and I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of California—Berkeley (2000-2001).
