Biology is one of my top subjects! Received my Bachelor of Science in Biology May 2012 from Clemson University (3.8 GPA). I have taken a wide variety of Biology and am vary familiar with most subjects.

I have a passion for teaching others and spreading my knowledge- I enjoy not only helping a student to understand, but to also become a mentor. I have been tutoring since middle school, and throughout high school. Since I have been in college, I have been eager to tutor again. My knowledge is mostly in high school and college biology, anatomy, and physiology. I graduated from Presbyterian College with a double degree in biology and psychology and a minor in chemistry. A Little Bit About Me...

I am open to all teaching styles, people learn in different ways so the teaching style that helps you this best is the teaching style I will use.
I believe in helping people that need help. So in college I began tutoring and started to do a bunch of community service projects. I have two years in tutoring experience. I tutor subjects such as algebra, pre-cal, biology, microbiology, world religion, psychology and the list continues. A Little Bit About Me...

Giving a student the answer does not facilitate their learning. My style of tutoring and teaching is to reinforce the basics, ask leading questions and give examples that assist the student discover the correct answers for him or herself.
While substitute teaching various subjects, I discovered my hidden talent – making math understandable for youth. My other gifts include excellent grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. I don’t have a teacher’s certificate, however, and am currently choosing not to substitute, but I miss the personal interaction with students who want to learn.

I do not have current experience teaching or tutoring for pay. I did some tutoring of high school students and fellow classmates while I was in college. Since then, I have been the "go-to" person in my family for help with math and science. I tutored one of my sisters in her classes at St Charles Community College. She graduated with an Associates degree in AutoCAD last year. I helped her with all her cad, math, physics, and engineering classes. From 2002 thru 2008, I tutored one of my nieces through her junior high and high school math and science classes. A Little Bit About Me...

What I have discovered about myself is that I learn differently from other people. I am the kind of person who prefers to set aside that assembly instruction manual and put together that Christmas toy by laying out the pieces in an orderly fashion. There is so much pleasure in problem solving. I learn by asking myself questions. I have little patience for mundane drills and memorization if they can be avoided. Each child is different. It is meaningless to say that a child is intelligent. There are many kinds of intelligences. Some children are more intelligent in memorization. Others are intelligent in solving problems. Graduating from Upstate was a wonderful experience. I was given the oppurtunity to study reading at great leangth. I worked with students that had many reading different reading diffuculties.
