I provide worksheets and online tutorials to aid the student when I am not physically present.
I have a total of 7 years of teaching experience. From 2010-2013, I worked as an enrichment counselor for the Pomona Unified School District. This job required me to create lesson plans and manage a class of 20 students for 3 hours a week, 5 days a week. From 2013-2015, I worked for the Chino Unified School District's AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program. In this job, I offered life readiness and college readiness skills and tutored various common core subjects to groups of 5 Jr. high and high school students. I networked myself through the AVID program, and began my freelance tutoring services in math and science. I had to leave the AVID program in 2015 to pursue a very important job opportunity to work as a Music Assistant for a program called " The Music Immersion ... read more

More About This Tutor...

My parents always stressed the importance of education. Over time, this became my philosophy as well. I enjoy trying to bring out this love of learning in the next generation. I feel that is done by not only helping the students to succeed in school, but also showing them the potentially interesting ideas that might catch their interest. I am patient, understanding, and considerate tutor. I would like to help your child to achieve academic success.
I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2008 with a double major in chemistry (B.S.) and environmental studies (B.A.). This combination of subjects led me to in-depth knowledge of chemistry, environmental studies, and mathematics as well as broad understanding of biology, physics, ecotoxicology, writing, history, economics, and logic. I began tutoring as a high school student and throughout college I continued to tutor privately. I hired on at a tutoring agency in October of 2000 and was with them for almost 4 years. I continued private tutoring after leaving the agency and also worked briefly as a tutor during an off track period. I have tutored in many subjects, including English, mathematics and various other subjects at different levels. I have worked with students K-12 as well as adults.
After working at Outdoor Science School for the last two years, I have changed in the ways I approach children and their learning. There are so many different learning styles, as there are many different children. Each child learns in a unique way and I believe that if we take the time to know the child, we can change the way we approach teaching them. My experiences have taught me to be fluid in my teaching style.

I am available to assist people of all ages to reach their personal goals. Children learn best in a safe and comfortable atmosphere, however, adult non-readers need a safe haven in order to work to their highest potentials, also. I am an extremely patient and upbeat personality, and never hesitate to answer all questions from any age students. I love to share the challenges with my students and look up information together on the computer and/or in their textbooks.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with youth but especially young children because they are, in my view, easier to work with. I understand that every child is different and some will be oral learners, visual learners, etc. Every one has a method of learning that works for them and I am more than willing to adapt and adjust to each individual child. I am very easy going, patient and empathetic. My goal is to have every child fulfill their educational goals, but also to challenge them to exceed their goals and reach their full potential through academic work and through experiences.
As a UCR graduate, I have been devoted to acquiring and developing my skills acquired during school.
