School has been the most important structure in my life since I was a kid. My parents taught me that school comes first above anything else. I took their statement very seriously. I earned a 3.9 GPA at my university with Summa Cum Laude honors. I was a dedicated student who wants to help others succeed in school. I am a babysitter, which comes hand in hand with tutoring. I often help the kids with homework when I'm babysitting. I help my old high school speech and debate team. My comments on tutoring Writing : I love to write; whether it be an essay or a creative writing piece. I have never gotten below a "B" in college for my writing essays.

I prefer the style of patience and hands on. No computers, no spell check. the only way to learn is to do it yourself.
I have tutored adults for free when they have needed a good eye to evaluate their work. Many adults can not spell and have trouble building a basic sentence. I am good at proofreading and helping the thoughts to flow better. I ask a lot of questions in order to help the student understand the thought process.

I am a third year student studying for an Elementary Education degree through DmACC and Iowa State. I have just completed a year of Elementary Educator math courses. A Little Bit About Me...

In 2000 I volunteered in the local high school's journalism class because of my passion for writing. The following year I was offered a position as yearbook adviser, and I further developed my skills with high school students. Since 2004 I have been a private tutor, teaching all elementary subjects as well as most middle school and high school curriculum. In 2005 I began teaching annual writing workshops at Simpson College for 6th - 12th grade students. In 2006 I attended substitute teacher training, and I began substitute teaching in 2009.
