Graduated with honors from Modesto Junior College with an Associates in Music. Four semesters of Piano at the college, five semesters of Voice, four semesters of Music Theory and ear training, four semesters of choir, and two semesters of Electronic Music. As a student I have a firm grasp on music fundamentals and the basics of music theory as well as some voice and piano pedagogy. Aside from my experience within the field of my degree, I've always received very high grades in math and english classes. English and composition (essays, poetry, etc) are my true strengths; however, math also comes very easily to me. My comments on tutoring Math : Taken in High School.

I always start with the basics. We start with mastering what you already know, then we move on to more complex skills.
I graduated High School in 2011. During my junior year of High School I started home schooling so I could take college classes. I took three classes at Skyline College, all of which were completed with a B or better by the time I was a senior in High School. Along with my college classes I babysat a five year old and tutored him three days a week. During my senior year of High School I would regularly tutor a 16 year old and a 14 year old. I believe in Minimalism. I tutor Math from the point of view that the shortest path is the best path but everyone learns differently and finding the right method for my students is one of my main goals when tutoring. I teach students multiple ways to solve a particular problems and they get to decide which method works best for them, hopefully its the simplest method. Public School class rooms have 30 plus students and only one instructor. The low instructor to student ratio makes it difficult for more then one method to be taught leaving some students behind. My teaching style adapts to the person I teach. I find a way the child it good with and go from there.
As of 2012 I am going to be a Junior in Highschool. I have passed all my classes with a C+ or higher and I am able to teach younger children great. I can relate to the kids having issues with school education because when I was younger it took alot for me to strive but I found that motivation and improved since then.
