I worked at Elohim Center tutoring the kids at an after school homework center in Hartsville, SC. I also worked at Hartsville School of Performing Arts for a short time period. However I provided assistance to the teachers and mentored the children that had potential, but didn't have the extra push in life to motivate them to be more. I worked at Billie Hardee Home for Boys in Darlington, SC as a volunteer I provided teen age boys the assistance in tutoring them with math, reading, and science. I have earned a BA in Criminology and an Associates in Sociology. As a teacher in middle school, teaching art was fun and exciting. Until I began to subsititute, did I feel that I could teach and wanted to help children learn. I taught for two years with being a subsitute for nearly four years. I am working on my masters in elementary education.
I believe that teaching should be interactive with imput from the student. This imput will allow the teacher to understand what the student knows and what the weakness might be. I want to make a difference in allowing the student to solve problems with guidance from me.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and showing them something new. I feel a sense of reward when a student of mine realizes that they have a new concept. When the lightbulb comes on it is the best feeling in the world. I believe that given the right tools and the right environment all students can learn anything that they put their minds to.
