I am supportive, creative, gracious, understanding, but also clear with expectations and goals. I am well-versed in the most effective and enjoyable strategies for learning and retaining.
I have three years experience teaching in the best language schools in the world, including Berlitz International, CNA Language Schools, Brazil, and TAG IDIOMA, Brazil. I have experience as a private tutor, but also as a classroom teacher and an instructor trainer. I am fully fluent in English, Portuguese, Italian, and Swedish. ALSO... A Little Bit About Me...

Very hands on type of person. I am the type of person that needs visual reminders to get my work done. I know that everyone learns in different capacities so I try to incorporate that into my teaching style. I work on identifying the students learning style and then we go from there.
I am currently working at Challenger 7 Elementary School as the only Guidance Counselor. I have created a study group club with students that need study skills, organizational skills or assistance getting their work done! I have been employed as a substitute teacher and mental health counselor in the past. I enjoy working with students because a lot of their stress is due to frustration of not knowing a concept. If you work with the students on their frustration you begin to see improvement in their grades!

A Little Bit About Me...

I attanded and graduated from the University of Florida with my BS in Health Science, graduating Cum Laude. Although my degree is in the Health Sciences field, I have extensive background in all the science fields, 4 years plus of chemistry and biology, as well as extensive experience in the reading/writing fields. I was enrolled in numerous lecture and laboratory courses throughout my time at UF. In regards to teaching skills, I tutored throughout my time at UF and for the past 3 months, have been tutoring at Huntington Learning Center as a K-12 tutor in both reading and math. I like the child to feel comfortable with me to where they are at ease and readily ask questions. I prefer to ask the student leading questions to aide them in coming to the conclusion on their own as opposed to simply telling them information. After a few questions have been answered then I am able to help them with the details of problem and a help them build a method for solving similar problems in the future.
I have a BS degree in Interdisciplinary Natural Science and a Minor in Public Health. I worked for USF Housing and Residential Education. I also was a Peer Leader for Chemistry where I was basically a Teaching Assistant and led two sections by myself.

Before earning my BA in Communication Sciences and Disorders I began my college career as an Education major. I completed volunteer courses in “Brevard Reads” “Rolling Readers” and completed over 150 volunteer hours in Brevard schools while in the major. In small groups we went over elementary math skills, science, social studies, and reading. During my 2009 semester I volunteered as a teaching assistant in a Montessori school for children with Dyslexia and various reading difficulties. There, we used the very successful “LiPS” program to work on reading, vocabulary, spelling, and phonemic awareness in hands on ways that targeted different learning styles.
