I got the tools you need to succeed !

I have taught high school students for five years now. However, I have taught college freshman for a year only. But, I do know what I am doing and I know how to help students. I am patient with everyone so I can communicate better and understand my students problems so, I have always succeeded in helping my students.
I am currently a college sophomore at Florida Institute of Technology studying Computer Engineering so I know the problems a high school or school or college student would face in studies. Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! I graduated from Florida State University with a major in Literature and a minor in Philosophy.

Varies depending on the needs of the student. Reading material will be required, as well as take home assignments. My goal is to develop the creativity of the student and instill within the the ability to structure that creativity.
My tutoring experience is limited to a college classroom setting. I participated in the standard classroom roundtables that explored what made one another stories work and what didn't, while offering constructed ways to repair or expand on the themes the authors were exploring. Even outside of the classroom, I helped fellow students find their own path to completing assignments in ways that allowed them to figure out how to do the required work on their own. The real draw I offer is my experience in studying literature, in analyzing the creativity of professional authors and figuring out how they constructed their masterpieces.

My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : For the past 5 years I have worked with 4th grade students in school classrooms as well as tutored for FCAT Writes test. I have many tips and techniques to use when tutoring a student in writing.

I absolutely love teaching and working with children. Children learn in unique and individual ways and sometimes struggle in school work because they learn at a different pace than the class as a whole. Individual and small group instruction greatly benefits these children in many ways. They have a chance to ask questions, to deal with specific areas of difficulty and to have better self-esteem when they discover they can learn and master the challenges of reading, writing, and math. Nothing is more fulfilling as a teacher than to see a happy face on a child who has discovered the joy of learning.

I believe that authenticity is the key to relating to people--especically children. Children are drawn to me because they sense my kindness and compassion. Equally important is my belief that evereyone learns differently. There is no right or wrong way to learn. A "slow" learner is not "stupid" or deficient in any way. They just have to be accomodating in an alternative manner. I believe that a teacher must adapt to the child's style of learning.
